The venue for the European Weightlifting Championship was the city of Batumi in Georgia. From April 6 to 13, 325 athletes from 40 countries will show their skills and will fight for the title of European champion. This time, the Russian national team will also take part, which last year did not make it to the tournament due to doping scandals. Russia will represent more than 20 athletes, Turkey - 30 participants, Georgia - 17, including 13 men and 4 women. The spectators will also be delighted by the favorite of weightlifting fans, the Olympic champion, three-time winner of the world and European champion, Lasha Talakhadze. According to the organizers, the holding of a tournament of such a high level in Batumi shows that Georgia has become a country capable of hosting and organizing such large-scale events.
